I think it points now to the system font dir. When I change the path to nyala.tff the string object is shown. Next, we will extrude the shape string to create a solid. I do see KiCad file types listed under the file menu, so maybe I am expecting too much and it is not supposed to show up in the workbench list? (If so, perhaps this can be clarified under the install section. Specify the Times New Roman font file 'times.ttf' that you have prepared. The cursor automatically repositions the text and is a nuisance, making that bit of the user interface. I always position them at Zero, Zero, Zero, and move them afterwards.
0.17 (details below) or this feature not fully developed yet? I suspect something is missing as a number of folders under the Mod folder do not show up anywhere as installed or installable workbenches. Adding 3D text to a model in FreeCAD version 0.19 is fairly easy but it has a few steps. Is something missing in the documentation on the FreeCad pages on installing workbenches, or is there an incompatibility with v. However when I followed instructions to copy the kicadStepUpMod folder to FreeCaD’s Mod folder I could not make it show up in the list of workbenches after restarting FreeCad, nor does it show up under Cutomize of the add on manager. Copy that file to the macros folder that we got above Restart FreeCAD. Thanks for a great job improving the documentation, it looks great! It seems like there are a number of features I was not aware of, for instance the possibility to install as a workbench. You will get a 'FreeCAD-library' folder Rename that folder from 'FreeCAD-library' to 'partslibrary' Move that renamed folder to the modules folder location that we got above Inside the FreeCAD-library folder, you will find a PartsLibrary.FCMacro file.
